Another live music venue in the Greater Boston area has decided to close.

According to a information A message posted on its website stated that 9 Wallis in Beverly will not reopen, with the following instructions:

In the past year, we have been scrambling to prepare to reopen 9 Wallis when the time is right. Unfortunately, too many factors combined make it impossible to reopen. Since 9 Wallis has no income for 15 months, and our drive-through program closure has caused significant losses, we can no longer continue to invest our money in the venue. Given the considerable cost of reopening, and our 9 Wallis landlord refused to waive any rent, we simply have no money to reopen. More importantly, we no longer have enough assets to withstand the huge risks inherent in operating a music venue.

The instructions on their website mentioned that 9 Wallis is working with other local venues to transfer as many performances as possible to these places, while also trying to redeem tickets and gift vouchers.

When the pandemic broke out in the spring of 2020, 9 Wallis initially invited music performers to perform in the space for free, and then in the summer, it held drive-through concerts in Manchester by the sea. The venue made its debut in the spring of 2017.
