The only Filipino restaurant in the area seems to be gone, although a new dining venue may be opened in its space that can serve both Filipino and Caribbean cuisine.

According to the poster information in the Quincy Is Everything Facebook group page, a new restaurant offering Filipino and Jamaican cuisine is apparently opening at the JnJ Turo Turo space in Quincy. Check out OpenCorporates page Indicates that Bright Light may open in the Water Street storefront. The page shows that the name of the parent company is Bright Light Authentic Jamaican & Filipino Cuisine, and a Google search seems to indicate that the restaurant may indeed be called Bright Light; once we find more information, we will post an update here.

JNJ Turo Turo first opened about 15 years ago, and earlier this year said it plans to close at the end of June; it is one of the very few local restaurants offering Filipino cuisine. Tanám at Somerville Bow Market also focuses on Filipino cuisine.

The address of the proposed new restaurant (and JNJ Turo Turo) is 143 Water Street, Quincy, MA, 02169.
