Deebo Samuel is seeking a new contract with the San Francisco 49ers, and the star wide receiver has very high goals.

Samuel is looking to become one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. Not only that, but Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that he wants to be the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.

Samuel is more than just a wide receiver. He had a breakout third season in San Francisco. He caught 77 passes for 1,405 yards and 59 carries for 365 yards. He also had 14 touchdowns and established himself as one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL.

Because he’s so important to the team’s offense, Samuel feels he’s more valuable than the top wide receiver in the game. He’s seen plenty of offseason extensions these players sign, and is looking for more than them, which may just be a negotiating tactic.

Regardless, Samuel doesn’t seem excited about his situation. This week, he showed it in a less subtle way on social media. The Niners have time by their side, but Samuel may try to put more pressure on them as the offseason progresses.
