James Robinson ranked 6th? Gus Edwards ranked 10th? Raheem Mostert (Raheem Mostert) ranked 11th? That’s right-this is not a preseason anymore. All the rankings and lurker lists that you have carefully researched throughout August are not out of the window. Now, it’s about touch and matchup. Our fantasy RB rankings for Week 1 reflect this, despite a huge warning: we are not sure how a team will allocate running backs and fast breaks, and we don’t know the advantages of offensive lines and defenses.
So, why try to play a game? Well, we have to base these rankings on something. Combining historical performance with season prospects is the best way. Maybe the Lions and the Texans were tied for the most fantasy points allowed by RB last year. They have improved, but based on offseason actions and predictions, they still won’t be particularly strong. This is why Robinson and Mostert rank in their place. Do you think they should be as high as their rankings is a controversial issue, but it’s hard to argue that they should be safe starters in this week’s 10-team and 12-team league.

That’s why you shouldn’t care too much about the orders here, at least for the first few floors. Players like Ezekiel Elliott (@Bucs), Saquon Barkley (vs. Broncos) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (vs. Browns) are lower than you pick them, but we still recommend them to be in your lineup. We will not be too crazy.
This is a guy in the 24-45 range, just like every week, fantasy owners will have questions about it. Given that we don’t know much about some of these committees (Broncos, Jets, Buccaneers, Texans, Cardinals, Bills, Dolphins), it’s hard to feel overconfident in any of their guards this week. , But it is very likely that you will accept the opportunity to have at least one RB in your lineup. Our ranking gives an approximation of the people we consider most valuable. Some are so close that if you don’t have to guess, it’s not even worth guessing, especially in situations like the Bills (against the Steelers), their defense is solid.
We will learn more about these committees after week 1, but even so, we won’t know everything. The first few weeks of the season are a process of feeling, both for the dream owner and the team itself. You can bet on talent or perception duel, or try to find a combination of the two. That’s why we still recommend at least the Broncos guard (@Giants) as a bend, but don’t like any Jets guards (@Panthers). This game is not expected to be bad, but we don’t know who will get a lot of touches, if anyone does.
You never want to perform well off the bench, which is especially painful in week 1. You don’t need to completely abandon a high-ranking player you choose (unless you are worried about his workload), but you shouldn’t just play these people and you should draft in the order you drafted. It is never too early to consider other factors, especially in an important position like running back.
notes: We will update these RB rankings as needed throughout the week. So please check back for the latest changes and analysis.
