A fast-food casual Mediterranean restaurant group based in California has expanded to downtown Boston.

According to a message sent by Adam Castiglioni Boston Hotel and Travel Industry BlogThe Republic of Hummus is now open at the corner of Franklin Street and Batteryarch Street in the city’s financial district. The company’s website confirms this, indicating that it has joined a handful of locations in California and a branch in New Jersey. The menu of the dining venue includes homemade burritos, pita pockets and bowls, including couscous, chickpeas, several kinds of hummus, chicken shawarma, falafel, steak strips, mushroom shawarma, tabule , Shredded goat milk, fried eggplant, and more.

Hummus Republic is headquartered in Xishan and was established in 2013. It is now looking to expand through franchise locations and will soon open branches in California, New Jersey and Virginia.
