The city of Boston debuted a cat cafe a few years ago, but closed it permanently after operating for a few years. Now it looks like another cat cafe may be on the way, this one in another part of the city.
According to local author Megan Johnson, a Beacon Hill storefront has put up a sign that says “The Refuge Cafe” with “Coffee, Books and Cats” is heading to Charles On the way down the street, a second sign describes what exactly is a cat cafe. Based on the pictures sent to us, the cat cafe appears to be moving into a building opposite The Sevens, between Pinckney and Mt. Vernon streets, and the first sign mentions that the place is planned for sometime this summer time to open.
PURR Cat Cafe opened on Chestnut Hill Avenue in Brighton in 2017 as a place where people could hang out with their adoptable shelter cats while bringing food or drinks; the cafe closed in late 2019.
