This is just one of the Vamp eyeliners. Checking Pupa’s website revealed a range of liquid and pen liners with different tips. This is their pen eyeliner with a medium thickness applicator. I have tried quite a few eyeliners before I used the liquid formula (Catrice). The pen is convenient, but at some point, you’ll get annoyed by how quickly the nib dries. I’ve tried Pupa’s Vamp mascara, which is great (regular black and colored), but this eyeliner never really convinced me.

I’m used to a very reliable Catrice formula that I can use to draw a line on both eyes without having to dip the applicator into the formula between applications. Pupa’s is a fairly average felt tip eyeliner, I have to stop and shake it and try to re-saturate the tip between applications, and even occasionally saturate during a single application as it loses color very quickly. It also does not have the intense pigmentation I expect from eyeliners. You can make a nice application with it, it’s just more time consuming and you may end up with thicker lines than you originally planned.

The tip is larger than my usual eyeliner, so the line is as thick as the wings. The older it is, the more difficult it is to draw the wings. Like I said, the tips lose a lot of color very quickly, so while the main line above the lashes looks dark, the wings are easier to see through.

I had issues transferring it, so it needs a base (it might not be a good option for oily eyelids) and it fades during the day as well. At the end of the day, I was left with only traces of eyeliner.

Pupa is sold in DM and some Müllers. The eyeliner is priced at 15,59 euros. Just buy mascara, it’s great.
