A landmark attraction in Connecticut, often mentioned as having the best pizza in the country, seems to be heading to the Greater Boston area.

According to one article Sally’s Apizza from Eater Boston is looking to expand into the area, and marketing director Krystina Nataloni confirmed that the place is “in active discussions with leading developers in the Greater Boston area,” especially in the Woburn area. The post mentioned that Sally’s is currently expanding in Connecticut. One of them is going to Stamford and the others are on their way to Fairfield, Norwalk and Wethersfield.

Sally’s Apizza first opened in 1938 and acquired new ownership a few years ago. This restaurant is one of New Haven’s famous pizza places, including Modern and Pepe’s. The latter now has a branch in the Boston area and, like Sally’s, relies on coal-fired ovens.
