The shade was created by hair colorist and TikToker Chrissy Rasmussen, whose videos showing the look have racked up tens of millions of views. Followers were quick to express their approval of the shade, with one TikToker commenting, “OMG almond butter,” another exclaiming “OMG please”, while many others flagged they knew they would love this Appearance friends.

According to the clip, the vanilla almond butter starts with a darker, nutty tone at the roots of the hair and gradually interweaves with blonde, neutral, and icy highlights throughout the midsection and ends.

While the shade is certainly a popular reference for salon makeovers, Rasmussen originally used the name to describe a specific shade of her popular hair extension, Habit Hair Extensions by EasiHair Pro.
