After a summer full of major signings and deals, NBA general managers (mostly) set their roster for the 2021-22 season. The Lakers and Nets are the earliest hottest teams to enter the 2022 NBA Finals, so unsurprisingly, they will appear on television in many countries. But there are also many opportunities to see other rising stars in the league.

If you want to know when the regular season will officially start, we have prepared it for you. The following is our current understanding of the NBA in the 2021-22 season.

When does the 2021-22 NBA season start?

  • Start date of training camp: September 28, 2021
  • NBA regular season start date: October 19, 2021
  • NBA regular season end date: April 10, 2022

Beginning on Tuesday, September 28, NBA teams will return to the stadium for training camp, giving them three weeks to prepare before the start of the 2021-22 regular season.

The regular season will end on April 10, 2022. The play-offs (April 12-15) and the NBA playoffs (April 16) will start in the same week.

NBA 2021-22 season schedule

After playing 72 games last season, NBA teams will resume their usual 82 games in the 2021-22 season. The complete game and broadcast schedule for the 2021-22 season will be announced on Friday, August 20.

The following is a breakdown of the NBA schedule for the 2021-22 season:

  • Regular season: October 19, 2021-April 10, 2021
  • All-Star Game: February 18-20, 2022
  • Finalists: April 12-15, 2022
  • NBA playoffs: April 16 to June 19, 2022 (the latest possible NBA Finals game)
  • NBA Draft: June 23, 2022
